That was our best meal in Sri Lanka. We went to the restaurant for the fresh fish, which you need to order ahead, and it was superb. Don’t walk, run!

The staff were friendly and communicated well, and the food was tasty and reasonably priced. The room was beautiful and clean, with lovely views of the trees and river around the hotel.

Watching crocodiles in the river was a real highlight, and the calm, beautiful surroundings make this a lovely getaway for nature lovers. Water Garden Hotel is peaceful and quiet near Malwathu Oya, with affordable rates and plenty of parking. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a serene place to stay.

We attended a wedding at Hotel Water Garden with fewer than 100 guests, but the experience was disappointing. The food was poor, and the hotel facilities didn’t seem well maintained. Tables hadn’t been cleaned properly, and their covers looked visibly dirty. For such an important event, the overall upkeep fell short.

A nice place with easy access, right beside Malwathu oya.
