Arugambay Roccos

The beachfront setting at Rocco’s Arugam is calm and pretty, with a nice view of the beach. The room, though, was in very poor shape: the water smelled bad, the beds weren’t comfortable, and the AC remotes didn’t work. It needs proper maintenance, even in the off-season. As it is now, I don’t think the stay is worth it.

We loved the peaceful feel at Arugam Bay Roccos, where comfort and nature seemed to go together. Breakfast was fresh and tasty, with local and western choices for the family. The staff were helpful, shared good local tips, and made us feel at home. Our clean, cozy rooms had a nice beachy style, and the beach location came with beautiful ocean views and waves to wake up to. Our daughter had a great time in the pool while we relaxed nearby with fresh juice. From our arrival, everyone greeted us warmly. A lovely place for families looking to unwind in Arugam Bay, and we’d be happy to come back.

The cabanas were what drew us to this hotel on our Arugambay visit, and they really are beautiful. We had good privacy, could see the beach from the pool, and found the beach easy to get to. They have their own private beach, too. It felt like a different kind of experience, and a place worth paying for.

What we’ll remember most about Rocco’s is how caring the staff were. My partner got food poisoning during the trip, not from the hotel, and the team gave us an extra room free of charge so we could rest with more space. They kept checking that we were okay, which meant a lot at a difficult time. There’s also a security guard on site 24/7, and we felt very safe. The room was clean, the setting relaxed, and the location was perfect for us. We had a great stay and would gladly return. Big thanks to the whole Rocco’s team, and we’d recommend it to other travelers.
