Fresh, tasty breakfasts are cooked right there by the lovely kitchen ladies, and they’re filling too. The garden has palm trees, squishy the one-eyed dog, and three cats, which gives the place a great feel. Rooms are big and clean, with a lovely outdoor shower, a verandah hammock, and a good vibe overall. It’s a little outside town, but just a few minutes’ walk to the beach and restaurants. Great value for money.

I liked being close enough to walk into the main town quickly, but far enough away from its noise. The grounds are calm and really pretty, and it has that beach-meets-jungle feel. My bed was very comfortable, and the A/C worked great. I had delicious breakfast each day and also got an awesome massage on-site. The host was friendly and funny, and helped arrange transportation for me. Fun vibes!

Breakfast was included and the best we’ve had in Sri Lanka so far. In the mornings, guests, staff and Raphaella would meet and share what they’d been up to, and the atmosphere was excellent. We ended up staying more than twice as long as planned. The rooms and outdoor shower looked like the photos, and everything was clean and well kept. There’s a folder in each room with key information on activities, flora and fauna, and other recommendations. The price is very good for what you get. Our stay with Raphaella and Sudu was a dream. We’ll be back and can recommend this accommodation to anyone.

Breakfast is included every day, with several choices, and all of it was outstanding. It’s served in a laid-back space where you can read or chat with other travellers. Raphaela was a great host, and her staff made us feel relaxed and welcome. The place is tucked down a narrow road away from the main drag, so it feels peaceful. The rooms are basic but comfortable, with hot showers, air con, and your own space in lush gardens. There’s no TV. It brought back the chilled Thailand vibe from 20 years ago. If you can do without 5 stars, you’ll be more than rewarded. Hope to return. Highly recommend.
