"27" Spathodea- Oasis in the City

Our flight was cancelled, but the kind service and breakfasts made the disruption easier to deal with. The place is very clean, has a cozy, home-like feel, and is in a good location. I'd book here over a hotel if you can.

We only planned two nights, but would happily have stayed longer if our itinerary had allowed it. This small, elegant homestay feels like a peaceful pocket away from Colombo's bustle, with clean, spacious and comfortable rooms. Communication with Glenn before arrival was clear and helpful, and nothing seemed like a hassle. We got in at 12:30am, and Sita was there to welcome us. She made us feel at home, and her breakfast was generous and delicious. We also ate dinner there to try Sri Lankan home cooking, and it was lovely. A really great place. Thanks to Glenn, Fiona and Sita.

Sita was so lovely with us, and we had an amazing breakfast. The house is beautiful and tucked away in the heart of Colombo. We'll definitely return next time we're in the city :)

After a month getting around beautiful Sri Lanka by bus, train and tuk tuk, arriving at 27 felt like a little oasis. We were tired, and Sita and Sadie looked after everything, including making us a delicious dinner. Sita's cooking is a real treat. 27 Spathodea is a gorgeous home, carefully restored and updated while keeping its original charm. Our room was tastefully furnished like the rest of the house, and the bed was the most comfortable we'd had on the trip. Glenn, thanks for being so welcoming and accommodating our late flight. It made a big difference. We hope to be back in Sri Lanka soon on our way to India and beyond, and would love for 27 to be our first stop again. Best wishes, Lyn & Glenn
