We stayed in The Loft, which had loads of room for the two of us and an extra bed if you need space for three. It felt great inside, with modern fittings, natural wood and warm tones, and AC that worked well. We could use the pool and had a lovely home-cooked meal from the onsite helper. The villa is beautifully designed and sits on spacious grounds, so it feels calm even though restaurants, the beach, and shopping centres are only minutes away. A real oasis in the heart of Colombo.

We stayed in a villa with a beautiful private pool. It’s a great spot if you want privacy and somewhere secluded, while still being in a prime location with modern facilities. We’ll be back soon.

We wanted a private apartment, but only found out on arrival that the larger villa they sent us to was actually a guesthouse. The hosts said they were upgrading us, but that wasn’t what we had booked. We chose to leave and they refused to refund us, arguing that the villa or guesthouse was better than the apartment we were meant to get. We lost nearly 400 euros because of their booking error. Apparently this happens often in Sri Lanka. Be careful about what accommodation they offer, since they may refuse a refund if you decide to leave.
