The ocean view was lovely, and the owner was welcoming and quite friendly. It’s centrally located, which is useful if you’re going to the Indian visa centre. Still, it felt expensive for a place where two other rooms shared the bathroom with us. Road traffic and trains also made it pretty noisy.

Mr. Jarl was helpful with suggestions about places to visit around the neighbourhood, and there are plenty of restaurants nearby. The guest house is clean and really nice, with different room types that follow the same pleasant style. It overlooks the ocean, and the location worked well for exploring Colombo. Well worth staying for a few days.

The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the place on Marine Drive was calm and quiet. There are a few apartments with separate entrances. Parking isn’t provided, so you have to use the road, and I’m not sure how safe that is. I wasn’t satisfied with the washroom, and there was no emergency customer service.

This works well for a night if you’re fine with a guesthouse, shared bathrooms, and no food or service. There’s no service on call or during off hours, 9pm to 9am. Colombo is hot, and the rooms have AC but no fans. The location on Marine Drive is awesome, beach facing, easy to find and clean, with Uber and pick me often available. There’s a taco bell two buildings away, plus a KFC and McDonals within walking distance. Two people operate the place, and they seemed polite to me. Four stars for the location.
