Ballena-Mirissa

The staff were really friendly, which was the good part. The place itself was the worst accommodation I had on my trip, and for what they charged, there are much better choices in Mirissa. It was poorly maintained, with broken fixtures, leaks, bad smells and visible dust. The room smelled of mold, and even the pillows felt unhygienic. I regret booking it.

Gigi the dog is such a sweetie, and the pool was nice. Our room and balcony were spacious, too. The check-in could go more smoothly, and it was sad to see the hotel not keeping up with general maintenance and upkeep.

The location worked really well, with the main Mirissa beach only about a two-minute walk away and lots of restaurants nearby. We also loved the pool and the plentiful, amazing breakfast. The staff were friendly and helpful, and they cleaned the room every day, which was a lovely touch. We were travelling with a baby and a four-year-old, and the room fit all of us comfortably. They provided a cot, though the baby mostly slept in bed with us because the beds were huge. There was a big fridge and a balcony as well.

The staff made our stay feel so welcoming, and being only a two-minute walk from the beach was perfect. The vegetable soup and cheese roti were so good that they kindly gave me the recipe. I can't wait to try making them at home. I had a fantastic, relaxing stay at Ballena Regency Hotel in Mirissa and would definitely recommend it.
