Courtyard Colombo

The ninth-floor view gave our Mother’s Day lunch at Courtyard by Marriott Colombo an extra special touch. We loved the meal too, with plenty of delicious choices and lovely presentation. The atmosphere felt warm and elegant for families celebrating together, and the staff were attentive and very friendly. We enjoyed the whole occasion and would recommend it for a good meal in Colombo.

After more than 24 hours of travel, we were worn out, but the welcome at 1 in the morning was so warm. The room was comfortable and clean, and the staff were especially friendly. We also loved the gym and pool area. It was a great place to rest and recover.

I left the buffet at Courtyard by Marriott deeply disappointed. The food was bland, and the spread felt sparse for something billed as international. There wasn’t any seafood at all, not even a prawn dish. I used to think of this as a dependable hotel dining option, but I can’t recommend it for a good meal now. The hygiene and service were just as troubling. One glass I was handed still had lipstick on the rim. When I asked for a dessert spoon, I saw a staff member take a dirty used one from a table, wipe it with a tissue in a corner, then bring it over. That was shocking and completely unacceptable. The staff seemed unwilling to handle even basic tasks. This place used to meet a certain standard, but it now feels badly managed. I’d eat somewhere else if hygiene and quality matter to you.

Mindika on service and Sachin at the ground floor concierge both stood out. They were always smiling, and the team seemed to remember what I liked before I even asked. From the moment I arrived, the staff at Courtyard Marriott Colombo made me feel at home with personal, genuine care. The service was consistently excellent, and people went out of their way to look after me. I felt truly welcome in the city.
