Villa Key 2 Ceylon - Colombo 5

The room was awful and nothing like the description. I didn't feel safe there. They charged double the usual price for bottled water, and when we asked, he said that's how it is throughout srilanka. There was no complimentary water or toiletries, and we had to ask for a towel. A terrible experience.

The room was decent value, but the bathroom was awful. There was no latch on the door, no toilet paper, and the clear glass bathroom window meant someone upstairs could look in. The drain was packed with hair, leaving us standing in dirty water. I showed the housekeeper, who seemed lazy and clueless. He eventually came up and cleaned it after making lots of excuses. He also insisted the missing latch was intentional, until I showed him it was broken. The TV only had one Chinese channel, and some amenities listed on Airbnb when booking weren't there. It's a nice place with potential value, but it needs proper maintenance before things get worse.

Good value for a Colombo stay or stopover. The staff were friendly, and it was peaceful despite being close to the city center. We'd come back.

A clean, modern place for a reasonable price, with nice staff and a quiet neighborhood. The walls are thin, though, and breakfast was very poor value.
