This was not a safe place for me. An employee watched me while I showered, then came into the shower when I opened the door to confront him. I screamed and pushed him out. I went to get the police, and we returned to the hostel. I explained what happened, then we waited for tourist police. They tried to discourage me from pressing charges. Eventually they said I'd have to go to court and prove it happened, and that court would be in a few days. It was clear to me what they were trying to do. When I tried to leave, they pulled me back and stopped me from going. I was scared, but eventually got away. I came back because I'd left my purse with all my money and passport, and they were going through it. When I confronted them, they said they were cops and could do whatever they wanted. I'm pretty sure money was taken from my purse too. As I was leaving, the man who came into the shower smiled at me. I'm sure he would have raped me if I hadn't screamed and thrown him out. The police did nothing to protect me and treated me almost like a criminal when I challenged them about going through my things. That tells you what kind of people they are. NOT A SAFE PLACE TO BE!
