The staff were friendly, and the rooms were okay, but there wasn't anywhere to put things away, no shelves or wardrobe. The doors let in a lot of damp air and insects. The toilet smelled too. Maybe the heavy rain and mountain weather in this region had something to do with it, and the rooms might be fine when the weather's better. Breakfast was a bit limited.

Sanju was lovely throughout our stay and made sure we had what we needed. The staff even helped us when our tuktuk broke down. The room was clean and nice, with air conditioning and good hot water, and breakfast had a good range of food. The internet was awful, though, and they only accept cash. If you're driving, be aware the dirt road up can be a bit sketchy after rain.

We didn't stay in the end and found another good hotel nearby, but the owners should refund our money. We paid a 50% deposit after the husband and wife urged us to book directly, saying booking sites took too much commission. When we arrived, the road was in very poor condition, the place was hard to find, parking was difficult, and the staff were unfriendly. The rooms and services they had promised weren't provided. When we asked for our money back, the wife, who called herself the manager, was rude and refused, even though they couldn't provide what they had promised. There's no view, and the hotel is very old and poorly maintained. Don't waste your money here. We understand there may not be many tourists these days because of the Middle East war, but this isn't the right way to make money from local tourists. SCAMMERS.

The view was amazing, and the walk into town took us through tea fields. It's around a 30-minute walk from Ella city centre, but the setting is quiet and beautiful, with fresh air. We stayed for three nights. The water wasn't working in the room we booked, so they moved us to a larger one with a huge bathroom and big balcony. Breakfast was generous and changed every day, with fruit, toast, omelettes, and a local specialty. Dinner was tasty and really filling too. One night my partner had bad acid reflux, so the staff brought the rest of our dinner up to our room. The next morning the hostess served red rice string hoppers, saying they were good for an upset stomach. They also offer laundry service, and everyone was super friendly and helpful. 10/10 stay.
