Hotel Sunshine

The rooms were old, dirty, and badly maintained, nothing like the photos. The bathroom was filthy, with a leaking sink and a floor that kept flooding. At the entrance, there were smelly, uncleaned garbage bags, and the garbage stayed there all day. We also felt very uncomfortable about safety. There were hidden entrances, sliding windows, and concealed doors connecting rooms. Management was dishonest and unprofessional. They brought up extra fees at the last minute as a “half-day charge,” which hadn't been mentioned when we booked, then gave vague, unreasonable explanations. It felt like an attempt to take money unfairly. This was a disgusting, untrustworthy place and the worst experience ever. Don't pre-book, since they may add hidden charges without warning. The hygiene was poor and there were safety concerns. I'd strongly recommend staying somewhere else.

Although the rooms were clean and the hotel is in the middle of the city, the bathroom was very dirty. We even found bird feathers in there, which is completely unacceptable. I don't know how that happened.😡😡 Some time shit happens🤣 We felt very uncomfortable and unsafe because of the many hidden entrances, sliding windows, and hidden doors connecting the rooms. The place didn't feel trustworthy, and being centrally located doesn't excuse the way they acted. They sometimes charge an extra half-day fee, around Rs. 3,500. This wasn't mentioned when we reserved, and management didn't explain it clearly, bringing it up only at the last moment with meaningless excuses. It felt like an unfair attempt to take money. Overall, a very bad stay. Don't pre-book, as they may add half-day charges without proper notice. Totally unsatisfactory. 😡😡😡😡

I booked for one day, but they charged me for 1 1/2 days, including the reservation day. The room fee policy and check-in and check-out times weren't properly explained when I checked in. Worst charging, a cheating hotel. Bad experience. Don't stay there.

I've known this place for more than 15 years. It's a budget stay with good value for money, and I stayed here while attending a function elsewhere. It's easy to find even by bus, and Galle Road is a one-minute walk away.
