Rain Tree by Oak Ray Hotel

The hotel is right opposite a lake, so we could enjoy bird watching in the morning and evening. The team members were polite and friendly, and made us comfortable throughout our two-day stay. They cooked the food to our requirements, and it tasted like home cooking. Our room was spacious and clean, with comfortable beds. Five stars for the room.

The pool area was a nice place to relax, and the staff were friendly and helpful. We had a pleasant stay at Rain Tree by Oak Ray – Tissamaharama. The room was spacious and comfortable for four adults, and the food was tasty. It was good value for money.

The manager was funny and friendly, which made our stay even more enjoyable. All the staff treated us so well and helped us feel comfortable throughout. The service was amazing, the food super delicious, and everything was truly 10/10. We had a fantastic stay at Rain Tree by Oak Ray, and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Sri Lanka! The iPad was eventually returned, but only after our travel agent spent hours pressing the hotel and the police were about to get involved. Before that, the hotel said they couldn't find it and mentioned new guests had stayed in our room that night. When asked to check CCTV, they suggested we'd been to different shops and perhaps lost it there, even though we'd only left the hotel on the safari truck. I'd accidentally left it in the room when we checked out. Once police involvement came up, they said they'd found it in our room and tried to pass off an Amazon tablet as mine, placing it where I'd said I'd left my iPad. Someone eventually came forward with the iPad. Without our agent persisting and the police threat, I'm sure we wouldn't have got it back. The hotel never contacted us to apologise. Our agent later told us the theft went as high as the general manager.
