Marino Beach Colombo

We loved our four nights at Marino Beach Colombo. The rooftop infinity pool facing the sea was a real highlight, especially for relaxing and catching the sunset. Our room had a beautiful ocean view and was spacious, and the whole hotel felt modern and very clean. Breakfast had plenty of choice, and it was all fresh and delicious. Staff were professional, helpful, and friendly, and the location worked well for exploring Colombo. We'd definitely stay again.

The Garden Bar was a highlight for us, with a lovely view and excellent service from bartender Pasan, who made cocktails to our taste and suggested drinks we enjoyed. Thisara was also attentive and cheerful. The rooms at Marino Beach Hotel were very clean, and we appreciated the complimentary drinks. Breakfast was good quality with plenty of variety. The Chinese restaurant was a letdown: the seafood fried rice had hardly any cuttlefish or shrimp, and the pork was bland. Manager Dahanu was friendly and receptive to feedback. The young waiter could use some more training, though experience should help. We'd return to the hotel, but might skip the chiness restaurent next time.

We ate at the evening buffet for our last four nights, even though we usually don't do hotel buffets, and it was outstanding. The restaurants and bars were excellent too. The rooftop spaces are huge, and the infinity pool was the best I've seen. The staff were the most helpful and courteous I've come across and deserve recognition. For the facilities and service, this was probably the best value hotel I've stayed at. If you're in Colombo, stay here.

The location was my favorite part of Marino Beach Colombo. On Marine Drive, it's convenient, with Pettah and shopping places like One Galle Face only a short drive away. I stayed four nights, and the rooms and bathrooms were spacious, spotless, and comfortable. The in-house services were reliable. During Ramadan, in-room dining made it easy to arrange meals before dawn. The rooftop has a great atmosphere for unwinding, and the drinks are really good. Staff were warm, professional, and down to earth. I'd gladly recommend it to anyone visiting Colombo.
