The Steuart by Citrus Hotel

We only stayed one night at The Steuart by Citrus, but it was a really good one. My friend and I were in Colombo for D82 Toastmasters Ovation 2026 on 16th and 17th of May 2026, and the stay made it easy to attend both days after a peaceful, safe night. The rooms were neat and clean, and the service from check-in to check-out felt warm and satisfying. Ruhan and Rajasekaran Niroshankanth helped with the booking and our needs during the stay. The bellman/doorman, whose name I’m sorry I didn’t get, took our luggage with a smile and helped without hesitation. Housekeeping was courteous and professional too, always responding on time with warm greetings. I’d recommend the hotel. We just didn’t have enough time to try the food. THANK YOU, CITRUS!!!!

The stay was worth the price, especially with the amenities and the happy hour deals from 5-7. The BOGO offers were good, and the pitchers didn’t taste too watered down. The pub staff were great, including the girl who took my order. At reception, the woman was helpful, though the man wasn’t very friendly, and checking in felt a bit awkward since the desk is right in the middle of the pub. My room’s washroom smelled, and the WiFi was painfully slow, but otherwise I had a great stay.

I liked the warm, classic feel from the wood and leather decor, and the pub in the lobby was a nice extra. The hotel is older, but the property is spacious and the rooms were clean and excellent. I stayed with friends on 7th February. Check-in could have been a little better organized, though the stay was pleasant.

The cafeteria’s old, cosy character and welcoming feel was one of my favorite things about staying at The Steuart by Citrus. My wife and I found the room comfortable, quiet, and well maintained, which made it easy to unwind after long days. Ruhan Renuja at reception deserves a special thank you. He helped us get an early check-in and kept things smooth and comfortable around my busy work schedule. His kindness and professionalism stood out. The hospitality was warm from the moment we arrived, and it made the stay memorable. I’d happily come back and recommend the hotel.
