Dambulla Tree House

The hosts made us feel completely at ease, and even took us out as a family to watch birds, see the lake, and visit their farm. Their warmth is hard to describe. Pradeepika's cooking was a highlight too. She adjusted breakfast after my stomach problems made the usual rice and curry too heavy, and her meals were so good I wish we'd taken a cooking lesson. We stayed in the tree house among the canopy, with steady, safe stairs and a lovely feeling of being close to nature. If insects, birdsong, and humidity aren't your thing, there's also a pretty, modern room with air conditioning and a garden view. Either way, you're with a wonderful family.

We stayed in the little new house in the mango garden, surrounded by a lovely view of nature. It was comfortable, clean, and modern. Pradeepika made us a wonderful Sri Lankan breakfast each morning, and one evening she cooked with us and shared some delicious recipes. She's a great cook. She and her family welcomed us into their home so warmly and made our time in Dambulla really special. We hope we get to see them again.

The hammock was a lovely spot to unwind and think back over the day's adventures. Our room was high among the trees, quiet and peaceful, and the food was both delicious and generous. The hosts were so attentive and kind, treating us like family and doing what they could to meet our requests. Such a unique stay, I'd happily recommend it.

We spent three days here, and the little breakfast served at the top of the stairs each morning was unforgettable. The couple who run the place were so kind and welcoming, and the house had all the comforts we needed, including a fully equipped bathroom. Sleeping right in nature, with birds calling and fruit bats flying around at night, made for a lovely and very local Sri Lankan experience.
