The owner was helpful and even kept our bags after checkout. Can't fault him. The room is basic but has what you need, including a strong shower, a fan, and clean beds, and it's good value. A couple of lizards ran around the ground-floor room, but I guess that can happen haha.

The place was clean outside the room, the owner was somewhat friendly, and the location wasn't bad. That's about all I can say in its favor. We stayed in the cheap non-AC room, which I can't recommend. There's no mosquito net, so you can't really air it out without giving up privacy since it's right by the main walkway. The Dialog signal was too weak for internet, and the free Wi-Fi kept dropping with just one bar. I have a 2024 flagship phone, so that wasn't the issue. They also asked for about 300rp more than Booking said. I know it's not much, but it's the principle. None of my other 10 stays in Srilanka did that. I can imagine the AC rooms might be nice. If you're a backpacker looking for a good 1-2 night stay, there are better options.
The location worked well, with food spots nearby, the beach close, and the main bus station not far away. The host also helped me with my bus and let me check out a little later. I arrived late at night, and he kindly helped me settle in. I ended up paying extra for AC because of the mosquitoes, and there wasn't a net. It was 3000 per night with A/C. The property has the basics, including a large bed, shower, and toilet. It wasn't too bad, but cleanliness could've been better: there was a stain on the pillowcase, plus bugs, cobwebs, and dust. Could've used a dusting :)
