Green Mo Holiday Inn

The food was a mess. The fries were good but cold, the vegetable noodles came as a small bowl of unpleasant soup with no noodles, and the fish on top smelled rotten. The banana shake was just crushed bananas in a glass, so thick it couldn't be sucked through a straw. We were tired and ordered anyway. The other manager serving us hovered close, kept pushing, and brushed off every complaint. We were given a second-rate table for the show, supposedly because the restaurant was full, though half of it was empty. The show itself was okay, nothing special, and the way we were treated was awful. We'd stopped at The Green Mo after a long trip because we didn't want to spend time searching for somewhere to stay. They could arrange two rooms for five people, but needed to clean them first, which seemed fine. At that price, we expected a comfortable, luxurious night. Instead, the rooms weren't clean, with hair on the floor and sheets and cobwebs on the ceiling. One room had water pooled beside the bed. They moved us, but the new room's shower also flooded because its drain was clogged with dirt and hair. The manager said we were lucky to get free access to a show at the hotel. It had only opened seven days earlier, so everything should have been in good order, but it wasn't. The place advertises itself heavily on billboards and elsewhere. Less promotion and better management could make it a dream hotel, but our stay was a nightmare.

Good service, and the food has a very Sri Lankan feel. You may want to ask them to cut back on the salt 🤭. It works for a family evening or drinks with friends.

The rooms were tidy and the service was fantastic. It's very close to Hirikatiya beach, and easily one of the best places to stay in the south. I'd definitely recommend it.

The food was average, and there wasn't much of the menu available.
