Duet hearts

Fireflies in the trees on the walk back at night made this stay memorable. It was a lovely place to unwind, surrounded by birds and monkeys, with a plentiful breakfast served on the balcony overlooking the view. The breakfast was simple, and the bed was one of the best I’ve slept in. There’s great hot water too. It’s a simple, functional homestay, about a five-minute walk from Ella’s main street, though it can be a little hard to find. Cars and tuk tuks can get there, and the hosts will talk to the drivers. They communicated really well and arranged our tuk tuk to the train station and for sightseeing, at a lower price than taking one off the street. Laundry was reasonably priced and handled professionally. I’d stay again.

The room was very clean and everything in it looked new, as if it had only recently been redone. We also had lovely views at breakfast. The family running this homestay in Ella were really welcoming and friendly.

The balcony view was wonderful, especially at sunset, and the room was spacious. Ella’s main road is only about a five-minute walk away, so we could get into town quickly while still enjoying quiet nights. We had such a nice stay at duet hearts with its warm, welcoming family, and would happily return when we’re in Ella.

It’s tucked away near the centre of Ella, and the family made us feel right at home. The owner was quick to respond and really helpful with our travel plans. A lovely homestay.
