Ella Gap Panorama

It felt like we were in a forest, waking up to birdsong among the trees, plants and waterfalls. The owner and organizer deserves credit for the variety of plants and flowers and for blending the rooms into the natural surroundings. The staff were friendly, met our needs quickly, and even made food to suit our tastes. The service was commendable, and the accommodation itself is so picturesque it feels like a tourist attraction. One day didn’t feel long enough to enjoy it. We visited Sri Lanka in June 2025 from India, and found this place in Ella through the reliable tour operator Amexi Lanka by Piyumi. I’d choose it again without hesitation, or recommend it to anyone. Hope they keep offering the same good service.

We enjoyed our stay and give five stars for the service. The hotel was clean, with a good view and a nice breakfast buffet with plenty of options.

The mountain view is breathtaking, and breakfast is decent. But the room gets only two stars from me: it hadn’t been cleaned before we arrived, and there were insects inside, especially big ants.

The colourful garden, full of beautiful birds, was a real delight. There’s a breathtaking view of the mountains and waterfall from the balcony and garden seating area. The room was spacious and clean, and the breakfast and snacks tasted good. The owner was kind, and the staff were helpful. They even carefully packed a papaya we’d bought for us. I stayed at another property the next day, but Ella Gap Panorama was a thousand times better in every way. Great views, well-mannered staff and excellent service on Kithan Ella road.
