The hosting family were so thoughtful, they surprised our son with a present and birthday greetings, which we really appreciated. The guesthouse is quiet and peaceful up on the hills, while Ella center is still close if you walk down the slope. From the rooftop, you get a breathtaking view through "Little Adam's Peak" and "Ella Rock" to the flatlands. Our rooms were modern, very clean, and looked toward the hills, a lovely place to unwind and recharge. We really enjoyed our stay.

The road up to Hilltop is very steep, so we sent our luggage ahead in a TukTuk for 500lkr while the rest of the family walked. It was excellent value, and I wouldn't have wanted to stay elsewhere. The owners were warm and friendly, and the comfortable rooms had thoughtful touches like a fridge. There’s also an upstairs veranda with a view toward the Ella gap. Fantastic location and beautiful views.

The rooftop terrace is fantastic, and the hotel sits among lush greenery in a perfect spot. Rooms are big and clean, the staff are very friendly, and breakfast is good. All in all, great value for the money. This place deserves a higher rating!

They gave us a detailed map and shared lots of tips about what we could do nearby. From the moment we arrived, they treated us with such warmth, and the tea they offered was delicious. They also gave us a better room. Since the train was just starting up again, they offered us the chance to take it, which was kind of them. We weren't keen on sitting for six hours, maybe even standing, when we already had our tuktuk. Really lovely of them to offer, though!

Very relaxed place and excellent value. The staff are friendly and know the area well. The view from the rooftop and breakfast area is absolutely breathtaking. Laundry and taxi services are available too.
