Pleasant View Ella

The people were extremely friendly and the service was great. We had a beautiful valley view, very clean rooms, and the best breakfast. We hope to stay here again.

The family were really lovely, and they helped us find a nice tuktuk driver. Our room was big and clean, and we had a good breakfast. It's a little way out of town, but the view is great. We had a very pleasant stay.

We stayed with Ravindu and his parents for a week, and it was the warmest, friendliest family we met during our two-month trip, even though we'd found Sri Lankan hospitality in many places. We truly felt at home. The breakfast was varied and excellent, and they always remembered what we liked, with a marvellous view from the breakfast table too. When bad weather kept us at the accommodation for two days, they brought tea, sweets, and bananas in the afternoon. We also got to see how families celebrate New Year in Sri Lanka, and they invited us to dinner that day without expecting anything back. After checkout, they even gave us a free food pack for the journey. That kind of friendliness and hospitality is exceptional, even in Sri Lanka. The room was nicely furnished, the bed very comfortable, and the bathroom clean with hot water. Waking up to a view straight into the Highlands was lovely. Ella town was manageable at about 15 minutes by tuk-tuk. We could rent Ravindu's scooter, and Ravindu's friend could arrange a very cheap tuk-tuk at any time. One of our best stays in Sri Lanka. We'd love to come back.

The hosts were caring and extremely friendly right from the start. They offered to rent us a scooter one day, though we didn't have a Sri Lanka driver's licence. The breakfast on the balcony was excellent, with a breathtaking view. On our last morning we had to leave very early, and our hosts got up early too to make us breakfast, plus a doggy-bag for our train trip to Kandy. We were very satisfied, especially for the comparatively low price.
