The Onestar Homestay

The view across the waterfall and valley was beautiful. The room was comfortable, and the breakfast was very strong.

The food was amazing, and the staff were always friendly and ready to help with a smile. The view is stunning too, with mountains and a clear sight of Kithala Ella. We had a wonderful stay at Onestar Hotel. It's hard to find such a lovely mix of scenery and service. Highly recommend if you're visiting the area!

We spent a whole day relaxing on the balcony because the views were so incredible. Book one of the deluxe rooms, 201, 202 or 203, for that balcony and scenery. We only headed out for dinner at the Dream lounge joint just outside, which was excellent too. Sri Lankan curry rice was 1400 LKR. The boys looking after the property, Mr Kumar and Raghu, were excellent and helpful. Rooms were spacious and clean, with super WIFI, a kettle, hair dryer, towels, shampoo and soap. Breakfast had eggs, fruit and pancake, and was wonderful. The price for what you get is unbeatable, and the place exceeded our expectations. A Tuk-Tuk from the main street cost about LKR 400-500, depending on your bargaining skills. You can walk back, but it's too dark after sundown. For another meal, Pool Hut on the main street near People Bank ATM is a small family-run place with excellent food at great prices. The avocado toast with eggs and hoppers were all excellent. Highly recommend Onestar!

The guesthouse staff were incredibly helpful, including with arranging activities and scooter rental. Breakfast was fresh and delicious, with eggs and a great selection of fruit. What really makes the place special is the breathtaking view of Ella Rock and the waterfall. It's an amazing spot if you're after good food, scenery and service. Highly recommend!
