The Tea View Guest Ella

I arrived in the evening and didn’t know what to expect. Opening the door for breakfast the next morning, I was surprised by the tea plantation view and the meal the owner had served. It was a memorable start to the day. I could see ladies picking tea leaves, which made me happy since I’d skipped the tea tour in Nuwara Eliya.

Dayanathan was especially kind and polite, and helped us throughout our stay. He went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and had what we needed. His warmth made us feel at home. Tea View Guest Villa is tucked among the hills with lovely tea plantation views, while still being close to the main attractions and restaurants. We had a truly memorable stay.

The owner and staff were very helpful, and breakfast was amazing. For the price, the view is unbelievable, and the location right beside the railway station is perfect. It’s also a budget-friendly choice if you arrive in Ella early in the morning. The bathroom could be cleaner, with some mould in the washroom, perhaps because of the climate. The room gets smelly if you shut the doors and windows, so you need to leave the windows open for airflow. Even with those issues, I found it a great place to stay.

30 July to 04 August 2025 The view was lovely, though being near the road made it a bit noisy. Owner Mr Dayananda was a great host and would try to accommodate any request. You get what you pay for.
