A quick walk from the rail station, and maybe 10 minutes to the fort, though I made it in 5 since I walk fast. The place is just outside the Fort in Galle, tucked off the main road, so it's quiet. My room was very clean and had plenty of water and tea. I liked sitting on the small balcony with morning tea or winding down after exploring Galle and the fort. There's a grocery store down the road, plus a family-run shop right out front. The owners were great, responsive, and flexible when my arrival changed and I ended up getting there 4hrs early, at 2pm. I highly recommend staying here.

The rooftop is the real bonus here, with a great view and enough space to launch a drone. Devo's Place is also handy for getting around, close to both the rail and bus stations. The rooms are basic but very clean, and though the facilities aren't new, they were fine. No view from the room itself. WiFi was fast at 25M download and 5M upload. The heater gives hot water whenever you need it, though the shower pressure is a little weak. We slept well on clean sheets, with little noise since it's off the main street.

The two older ladies were so kind and caring, always ready to help. The room was clean, and the bathroom was especially spacious and spotless. It's in a quiet neighborhood near a supermarket, about a 5-minute walk from the railway station and less than 20 from the fort.
