They’re dishonest. If you pay cash without taking a photo of it, they’ll charge you again and call the police if you refuse to pay. They also tried to charge double for a taxi compared with the price they’d quoted the day before. Avoid staying here!

The location and rooms are good, but the management’s service was awful. I don’t think the owner is honest. Once your stay is over and you no longer have business with them, they won’t help you. Of all the hotels we stayed at in Sri Lanka, this was the worst. We’ve stayed in remote places like Rice Rice Villa, out in a rice plantation and nowhere near the city or roads, and it was neat, lovely, and had very accommodating staff. I wouldn’t recommend Frangipani Motel. 👎🏽 I agree with another review here that the family seemed nice but didn’t turn out to be trustworthy.

It was a good place for my one-night stay, and everything was very clean. The location is very good too. But this was the only hotel I found that didn’t provide drinking water or tea and coffee.

My wife and I visited their garden restaurent, where the atmosphere was nice and there was live music. But we both got severe food poisoning, so I wouldn’t recommend the food.

Frangipani motel was a really relaxing, enjoyable place to stay. The location was perfect, with everything within walking distance. They also have a cozy restaurant called the ivy by frangipani, with really good food and a variety of coffees.
