I had a pretty bad stay. The room I was given had an air conditioner that didn’t work, doors that could barely be shut, and Wi-Fi that didn’t work at all. The entrance stairs were badly rusted, with damaged steps, no railings, and felt very unstable. I feel for the three staff members, including the owner, who were trying their best, but the place needs to do better. It wasn’t worth the price. The only thing that worked was the hot water, and even that barely worked.

A convenient spot, not too far from the main town, for a decent rice and curry buffet lunch at a reasonable price. The staff are generally happy to serve you.

Everything I needed at a very affordable price: a clean room, strong air conditioning, and an excellent shower. On arrival, attentive staff offered cold, fresh hand towels, which helped with the humidity. The hotel tuk-tuk driver was great company and didn’t try to overcharge us for rides.

The place was refurbished two months ago, so Google 3D Street View is out of date and still shows the old name, Sangola. The 2D location photos are current. Room options and rates vary, from a standard room with a fan and no air conditioning to one with full air conditioning and a bar fridge. I had a self-contained unit with a bathroom, TV, and Wi-Fi. The resort has a restaurant with a good selection of Western and Sri Lankan meals. Staff were helpful and fixed problems promptly. They even corrected my bill to remove the breakfast charge because it was included in my room rate.

The buffet lunch was great, and they also have BBQ for dinner. It’s a calm place right by Galle Road and the beach, and a good spot for a meal.
