Snooze Station by Sydney Galle

The rooms and facilities were clean and comfortable for a one or two night stay. The location was extremely convenient, and there’s an overnight guard, so it felt very safe. It can be a bit noisy, with the bar downstairs at night and the bus station during the day.

We were only here for one night, but I’m really glad we picked Snooze Station. It’s easy to walk to lots of Galle’s well-known spots, and the room felt clean, safe, and comfortable. The cafe and bar downstairs make it handy to have a place to eat and drink as well as sleep. I liked the amenities, the authentic branding, and the price. Would absolutely recommend.

We had a private double room, just right for sleeping well after walking around Galle Fort in the heat. It had the essentials covered: good water pressure, enough hot water, a comfortable mattress, and quality amenities. The place was spotless, and the walls did a good job keeping noise down. Staff were friendly too. I’d stay here again whenever I’m back in Galle. Snooze Station is tucked behind the historic Sydney hotel, reached by walking through the old pub. The hotel has kept its old-world feel, which reflects the owner’s care. It also made it through the tsunami and the economic downturn Sri Lanka faced afterward. I hope to see the historic building restored to its full glory.

I stayed in the Gin Room, the women’s dorm, and found it comfortable. My concern was that there were no keys for the room. There is security, but knowing anyone could get into the dorm made me a little uneasy. Locks or key access would help guests feel safer. The place was clean and well looked after, the staff were welcoming, and I enjoyed the food. It’s right by the Galle bus stand, very convenient if you arrive on a highway bus, and Galle Fort is an easy walk away.
