It felt more like a homestay, with the living area filled with ornaments and decorations. We arrived around 8.30 PM at Lakshan View Resort in the heart of Haputale town and had booked a triple room. It was basic but spacious enough, with the essential furniture and supplies, towels and blankets included. The attached bathroom's hot water worked fine, though the room insulation was a little poor. We were disappointed to find hair on the bedsheets. The host changed them after we complained, but it had already affected our impression. The host arranged fried noodles for dinner, which seemed a bit pricey to us. Eating out would have been a better option.

A peaceful, cozy place for a stay in Haputhale. Everything was neat, clean, comfortable, and well arranged, and the property was beautifully maintained. We had a wonderful time 🥰❤️

The house has a homey feel because it's actually a family's home, and it's central, within walking distance of both the train and bus stations. But it was very noisy. My first room opened right onto the main street; after I asked to move, they gave me a quieter side room, though street noise was still a problem. With thin walls, I could also hear other guests talking and singing, and the owner speaking loudly in the hall. The boiler never heated the shower water, so I had to stay dirty and dusty. It was very cold too. An extra blanket didn't help enough, and I had to sleep in my jacket. When I tried asking the owner for information, he rejected me immediately and said he didn't know ...

A terrible stay in 2018. It was dirty, old, damp, and noisy, with a standard below budget. The hostel sits between the railway and highway, and the trains and trucks felt like they were driving right through the room. I hope things have improved since then, though the location can't change.

The owners made us feel at home, and the flower gardens added to the calm atmosphere. Our room at Lakshan View Resort was clean, wonderful, and well maintained, with great TV facilities and hot water that worked perfectly. The food was delicious, especially the flavorful string hoppers and chicken rice. Room prices were very affordable too. I'd highly recommend it for a relaxing, enjoyable stay.
