The place felt unwelcoming, almost haunted, and I wouldn’t choose it for a family stay. The management needs to improve the hotel inside and out and put in solid infrastructure. They could start at the entrance, clear away the clotheslines, improve the gardening, and provide proper parking. The history of the place could also be used as a marketing tool.

The setting is appealing, with tea plantations all over the surrounding mountain range, but the customer service was very poor. The food and cleanliness also weren’t satisfactory. Nuwara Eliya is about an hour’s drive away, 46 Km, and Castlereigh reservoir takes about 20 minutes to reach.

The pictures and the place don’t match the name Grand Peak Tea Garden Hotel Hatton. The interior pictures are from the Peak Rest in Idalgashinna. Hatton Grand Peak Tea Garden Hotel is a luxury bungalow with all the luxury facilities.

We booked the place for a party, but when we arrived on the date, management said they couldn’t provide it because some visitors were staying there. The management was so unprofessional, and we were very disappointed. This isn’t a trustworthy place or group of people.

We stayed in the annex building, which had 6 bedrooms. There was a lot of garbage around it and the area was dirty. Service was very average.
