I don't usually rave about a place, but Ulpatha is something special. The house is beautiful and carefully put together, with quality touches throughout. It's spotless, the beds are really comfortable, and the atmosphere is lovely. The garden is peaceful, and the natural spring feels magical. The rooms and house were clean to a standard I'd expect from a five-star resort. It's quiet here, yet the station and downtown Hatton are an easy 10-15 minute walk away. Nana, the owner and host, has a great balance of looking after you and giving you space. He's a former national team football player, an interesting and fun guy, and brings that famous Sri Lankan hospitality. His cooking is next level and generous. He's also a coach and physio therapist, and gave me an awesome massage after days on the Pekoe trail. He can arrange what you need, and if you're taking the easiest trail up Adam's peak, he'll even pack a lunch. The house is five stars on its own, and Nana adds another five. Can I give it ten?

Nana was wonderful, making us feel safe and welcome in his home. He's a beautiful person and gave incredible service. The town is only about a 15-minute walk away. Our room had everything we needed, and upstairs there's a lovely little spot to read, do yoga or just relax. Thanks for having us.

It's a large house owned by the host. The place is pretty basic, but very clean and excellent value for the money. The rooms were quiet and spotless, and the location was good, just a few minutes from town. The host was super nice and helped us plan around Hatton and find tuk-tuks. He made great breakfasts for a reasonable price and was always around if we needed anything. We had a good stay and felt the quality was well worth the price.

We had a wonderful time at Ulpatha guest house. Nana was a lovely host and cooked us a brilliant meal. I'd recommend staying here if you're visiting Hatton.
