We loved our stay at The Brown Villa. It isn't a brand-new, shiny place, and the small garden has seen better days, but we enjoyed every day there. Around the garden we spotted peacocks, monkeys, and lots of local birds. The villa has what you need, including a fully furnished kitchen and a bedroom with AC and a mosquito net. We're a couple working remotely, so the fiber internet mattered to us, and it was super fast and stable. Athula and Neeshan looked after us really well and checked every day if we needed anything. It's a 10-minute walk to turtle beach, which gets crowded fast, or a 15-minute walk to the beach on the east, where you're almost alone. Strongly recommend getting a scooter, and Gayan can help with that.

The caretaker was friendly, and I thought the place was totally worth it. The access road is very narrow, though, and the living area gets excessively hot during the day since they haven't installed AC there yet. That's why I took off a star. Still, highly recommended.
