Hotel New Seaside Inn

The location and view were the only good parts. We booked eight days, paid the full amount in cash on arrival because the hotel wouldn't take cards, and never received the receipt we requested, despite being promised one. Without proof of payment, we felt unable to check out on the second day. We were shown three rooms. In room #5, the main door wouldn't shut, and its hinge eventually gave way after several attempts. Staff tried to fix it, but it still wouldn't close. The bathroom door wouldn't close either, the shower barely ran, and the opaque windows had no ocean view as advertised. The second room next door had a working door, but the shower only dripped. We chose a larger room with a view on the second floor, room #15. That night, we found the toilet tank leaking heavily across the floor. It looked as if it had been leaking for at least a year, and using the toilet meant getting our feet and legs wet. The host said he'd look into fixing it or finding another room, then left us a towel for the floor. The bathroom was still flooding when we left. There was no top sheet in any of the rooms we were shown. We had to ask for a power strip to plug in the small refrigerator, and the one we got was old, worn, and a fire hazard. Only two of the six lights in the room worked. The place is old and tired. We had to leave the balcony door ajar because there was no outside knob or handle to pull it shut, so mosquitoes got in and bit us at night. There was no Wi-Fi, some beach chairs were old and broken, and we saw no beach umbrellas. Maid service wasn't daily. We asked for clean towels on day five and got maid service that day.
