The beach entrance in the photos isn't actually theirs, and that made an already disappointing experience worse. The rooms smelled really unpleasant and not fresh, and the owners were genuinely unfriendly. By Sri Lankan standards especially, I found them very rude. The whole experience felt off, and I wouldn't go back.

The air conditioner didn't work properly, the bed was poor, and the room wasn't properly cleaned. We weren't given bed sheets, so there was nothing to cover ourselves while sleeping, which was extremely uncomfortable. Security didn't feel reliable either, and the basic facilities seemed completely neglected. I had a very disappointing stay in Hikkaduwa and wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone 👎🏼.

This is a large place right by the beach, with plenty of restaurants and hotels within walking distance. It's affordable, though parking is a problem throughout this area. There are A/C and non-A/C rooms across three or four floors. A standard room has two separate single beds and an attached bathroom, but no hot water. If you just need a place to stay, it has what you need.

The pakora was good, but came with only ketchup, no spicy or mint sauce. The cheese naans were more like rotti with a kind of tasteless cheese sauce. I've had better Indian food in France. Those claims about real Indian food made by an Indian chef left me really disappointed.
