The food was a highlight, especially the calamari, which was the best I’ve had on the island. This is a genuinely family-run guest house, and from my arrival 12 days ago I was treated like part of the family. Requests were handled with warmth and care throughout my stay, even when I asked for food that wasn't on the menu. The relaxed, heartfelt feel made it easy to settle in. If you want to feel welcome and looked after, I can't recommend Why Not Guest House enough.

We felt welcome from the moment we arrived, and the owner gave friendly service. The rooms were very clean, and the location is excellent, right on the beach. It's very good value too. I moved here from another villa inland, which wasn't nearly as nice. Definitely a good place to stay in Hikkadua.

We loved Why Not so much that we extended our stay. The restaurant food is really tasty, and there are lots of great cafes nearby. You can roll out of bed straight into the ocean, and the rooms are spacious and clean. The staff are lovely and friendly. I'd definitely stay again.

After surfing in hikkaduwa, I stopped here for a drink and found it really refreshing. The spot is perfect for watching the surfers. I met one of the lovely owners on my flight to Colombo, and the food menu looked delicious. Worth a visit.

Sujith is a friendly host, and the restaurant serves good food. It's a lovely little cabin right on the beach.
