That view is jaw-dropping. If you want a hotel with an unspoiled sea view, Six Elements is the one. From the balcony, you're looking across the vast Indian Ocean, with Antarctica the nearest landmass directly to the south. The hotel sits at Sri Lanka's southern tip, about a 3-hour drive from Colombo airport, 95% of it on the new freeway. Its location is hard to beat: a brackish lagoon full of birds is 10 metres to the north, and a fantastic Indian Ocean beach is 25 metres to the south. The building looks modest, but the rooms are clean, modern, and just right, with aircon. The top-floor Bratislava suite is huge, has two large balconies, and is perfect for a family. It's the only one of its name in the world. Two ground-floor rooms open straight onto the pool and garden, and the first floor has four more rooms. There's a nice pool with a small kids' pool, plus an outside bar and a massage area. BUBO beach is only a few steps away. You can hear the ocean roaring all day and night, and the clean, soft sand stretches for kilometres. Hardly anyone was there, like having 5km of private beach. Swimming isn't advised because of strong currents, but watching the waves crash and surfing them is great fun. Leave your sunglasses on the beach, though, or the ocean may smash them. The hotel serves full board, and the cook deserves a high five for the delicious meals. It's a discreet hideaway with a beautiful beach away from the prying eyes of the world, with 5-star beach and sun all year round. What are you waiting for?

The clean beach was right there for long walks by the water, and the ocean-view pool was perfect. I had such a lovely stay at Six Elements. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and beautiful, with amazing views. Staff were warm and welcoming, and the food was fresh and really tasty. Already looking forward to coming back to this paradise escape!

This didn't feel like a resort. The room and decor were very nice, but it was missing plug points and a mirror. Service was appalling. One man seemed to handle the bar, cooking, and reception, and we had to go find him when we needed anything. Drinks took 20 minutes to arrive, and food took even longer. The WiFi didn't work, and I was told there were electrical problems before I arrived. The manager was rude. When I asked about arranging a taxi, I was told to use my phone. It's also very secluded, with no nearby restaurants or bars. I couldn't wait to leave.

What made our time at Six Elements unforgettable and so comfortable was the staff. They were professional, but above all, genuinely friendly and nice. Service was perfect throughout. The hotel is in a lovely spot beside an uncrowded beach where we enjoyed calm walks each day. Our room was spacious, spotless, and had a very nice view. We also really appreciated the pool. This hotel is excellent.

The staff were friendly and attentive, and they genuinely cared about making us feel welcome. Food was consistently good, with a range of well-prepared dishes for different tastes. The hotel was clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully laid out, which made it comfortable and pleasant. Its convenient, accessible location worked well for relaxing as well as exploring the area. We had a wonderful stay, it exceeded our expectations, and we'd happily come back. Highly recommended for a pleasant, hassle-free visit.
