Kitesurfing Lanka

The whole team and the atmosphere were the best part. Everything was well organized, and everyone was so friendly and welcoming. The staff who helped us with the kites were wonderful. The spots are amazing, though the wind was a little gusty in May during summer season. I stayed in a charming, comfortable premium bungalow, and there was lots of tasty food to choose from. I’ll be back.

The mix of adventure and downtime was just right. Yoga on the beach was a highlight, and I also loved the extra options like kayaking, dolphin watching, and biking. The lagoon location was perfect, with great kiting conditions and helpful instructors. The rooms were good, and the staff were really friendly. I had a great stay at Kitesurfing Lanka Resort.

Dil and his team are incredibly warm and welcoming. Some of the staff have stayed since KSL began more than a decade ago because they’re looked after. Sustainability is a real priority, and you can see the positive effects KSL has had on Kalpitiya’s community and ecology. It’s the best place to stay and kitesurf in Kalpitiya.

If you want comfort, plenty of structure, and a resort feel, you’ll probably love it. The place is cozy, food is excellent with three quality meals a day, and activities are all offered on site. Many guests seem happy to stay within the property, which is comfortable and well organized, almost like a small gated tourist community. But it also feels like a very commercial operation focused on an all-inclusive experience, with little connection to the local area. If meeting local people and experiencing Sri Lankan hospitality are more important to you, I’d choose a locally run place nearby.
