Surfpoint Sri Lanka Kite Village

We especially appreciated how kind and caring the staff were with us and our four-month-old. They made us feel welcome from the start. The kite instructor Shan and his team were friendly, helpful, and flexible, adjusting the kite sizes and moving sessions around when conditions called for it. They made it feel safe and relaxed at every skill level. We came mainly to kitesurf and had a great stay. In summer, you can't kite directly in front of the hotel, so the school arranged five-minute shuttle rides to the lagoon every day. The rides were fun and brought everyone together. The accommodation feels authentic and comfortable for the price. The rooms are large and have AC, though WiFi there is limited or unavailable. WiFi works well in the restaurant, where there are varied choices for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Water, tea, and coffee are complimentary, and other restaurants are within walking distance. We would gladly come back, and highly recommend it for the comfortable stay and friendly kite community.

I took my first kitesurfing lessons here with Seshan, and the crew were awesome. They were patient when I found things difficult and gave me the guidance I needed. The accommodation has everything you need, and the staff are really funny and friendly too.

Being right on the beach was a real highlight. Falling asleep and waking up to the waves, with a clear view of the ocean, felt special. The staff were attentive and caring throughout, always going out of their way to help. After traveling all over the world, I honestly haven't had hosts this wonderful. We spent ages comparing places in Kalpitiya before choosing Surfpoint Sri Lanka, and we're so glad we did. Some hotels are a little closer to the kite spots, but Surfpoint is only about five minutes by scooter from several nice spots. Those other places cost noticeably more, felt much less personal, and kept you at the same spot. Here, the atmosphere was completely different. Thanks again for everything. The kite school had a great atmosphere, with people who were always ready to help and have fun. The food was delicious, and the portions were huge. Our rooms were spacious and clean, and the air conditioning came in really handy. The staff were so kind and attentive. They helped us sort out bus times, getting around, and scooter rental, and were always happy to make the day easier. Everyone was warm and welcoming.
