Wellé Wadiya Beach Villa and Restaurant

The sea view from the roomy balcony was beautiful, looking over a well-kept garden. The balcony itself had lots of space. Inside, the rooms were large, well equipped, and comfortable, and the air con cooled them quickly. We had a very enjoyable three-night stay. The food was also to a high standard. Breakfast was ordered in advance, which is great for avoiding waste, and we had big fruit platters and an omelette. For dinner, we ate beside the sea on the decking. The crab and prawn curries were the best we've had in Sri Lanka. They were happy to help with any request and made us a lovely New Year's Eve meal. It's a great place to stay, just as the pictures show.

The sandy beach right in front is only partly accessible at the moment because of a recent cyclone, and there's a small protective stone wall. That didn't bother us. A short walk to the left takes you to a long, beautiful sandy beach for walking, swimming, and kitesurfing. The sunsets were breathtaking, and the view is lovely for relaxing. Our room was comfortable and well equipped with AC and fans. The food was excellent every evening. We could order fresh crab and fish ahead of time, and both were delicious. The whole staff were friendly, attentive, and helpful, and we felt warmly welcomed right away. A special thanks to Pradeep, the manager. His service was outstanding. Whenever we needed something, he would head out immediately to get it, and he left no wish unfulfilled. Brownie was another highlight, such a sweet, lovable dog who faithfully keeps other dogs away from the property. One small suggestion: the bathroom fittings could use an update. It was a minor thing and didn't affect our wonderful stay. Thanks for the excellent service and warm hospitality, we had an amazing time! 🙏❤️😊✨

The food was fantastic, especially for anyone who loves seafood. Having dinner in one of the lovely cabanas by the sea was an unforgettable part of the stay. The view from the hotel is breathtaking, and the rooms were spotless and really comfortable. The staff were so warm that we felt like royalty, and owner Chanaka deserves a special mention for making our visit extra special. Kalpitiya is now a place we definitely want to visit again. We had a lovely seven days at Welle wadiya hotel and will definitely come back next year. The pool area was nice, the rooms were good, and the food was lovely, especially the rice and curry. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Pradeep and sadham gave the best service. See you soon!
