Amaya Lake Dambulla Resort

Achini, our coordinator, made our anniversary celebration extra special. She was thoughtful and so helpful, and even surprised us with a lovely cake. Everyone we met was friendly, attentive and professional, and the food was delicious. We were celebrating our first wedding anniversary at Amaya Lake Dambulla, and had a comfortable, well-kept room. We came away with a wonderful memory and would happily recommend the hotel.

The full-body treatment at the Ayurveda Spa was a real highlight. The therapists were professional, and we left feeling relaxed and refreshed. We also appreciated how welcoming and helpful the staff were throughout our stay. Amaya Lake Dambulla was peaceful, with lovely surroundings and a well-maintained property. Our room was clean, comfortable and had what we needed. We enjoyed our visit and would recommend it for a quiet break and wellness experience. Thanks to the whole team, and we hope to return.

We loved the scenery around the lake, and the resort is well cared for. The buffet meals were a strong point, with lots of choice and tasty food at both breakfast and dinner. Both pools were great, and the staff were caring and attentive. Getting between the villas and the restaurant, car park or pool means a long walk, or calling the free golf cart, and there are quite a few steps to reach the villas. I’d come back, but not with my elderly mother, who found the terrain hard to manage.

The lake views and breezy greenery were beautiful, and we spotted monkeys playing and butterflies in the garden. The property is very well maintained. Our room was neat and clean, and room service was polite and ready to help. Food was tasty, with plenty of choice at breakfast and the a la carte lunch and dinner, including international dishes as well as traditional Srilankan cuisine. The staff were warm and went out of their way to make us comfortable. A great stay, definitely recommended.
