The restaurant downstairs has a lot of character, and we enjoyed its atmosphere during our one-night stay and small gathering. Our rooms upstairs were comfortable, nicely furnished, and had what we needed. The hot water stayed consistent and the shower pressure was good. There are about six rooms on that floor. A few things let the stay down. The toilet seat needs replacing, and the cable TV showed a “connection disconnected” message. Food was a bigger problem: nothing was being served while we were there, and the explanation was hard to follow. It seemed meals had to be ordered well ahead, so even after booking four rooms we couldn't get a simple snack. We were pointed toward nearby fast food, which was walkable but not ideal. Going out for dinner also meant telling staff beforehand. Otherwise the gates were locked and the staff seemed to be asleep, so getting back in felt like a bother. The place has a lovely feel and plenty of promise, though better staffing, clearer communication, and attention to these details would help it a lot.

I found this coffee and art centre in Kandy two years ago, and it quickly became one of my favorite places. Even with the busy city right outside, it feels calming as soon as you walk in. The welcoming staff, art, and music make it an easy place to slow down and just sit for a while. I ended up having nearly all my weekend coffees here.

I've stayed overnight at Atelier and visited more times than I can count. It's handy for getting around Kandy, close to the city centre and right beside the main road. The staff have always been friendly, which is one of the things I like most. I'll keep coming back and would recommend it.

Whenever I'm back in Kandy, I stay at Atelier. It feels cosy and intimate, and the rooms are spacious and clean. Arpici super market is just across the road, which makes the location convenient. There's usually a lovely art exhibition in the coffee shop gallery, along with things like film screenings and quizz nights. The staff are pleasant and helpful.

We had a fantastic time here. The downstairs has two different seating areas, one surrounded by plants and the other by paintings, and the art throughout is lovely. The kids had fun playing the grand piano. The rooms are large, though ours had four beds and only one blanket at first. The helpful staff brought us more. There was also a button to play music in the room, which I think they use when it's empty as part of the art gallery display. The lane is small, but Pizza Hut and a supermarket are right outside it.
