The Kandyan Manor Home Stay

Birdsong and quiet mornings, then cozy evenings in a house full of old-world charm. Our stay at The Kandyan Manor was memorable from start to finish. The beautifully preserved Walauwa sits amid lush greenery, and the heritage comes through in the walls, furniture, and character of every corner. Bhathiya, Suzy, and their team welcomed us with genuine warmth and made us feel at home, with thoughtful attention throughout. The staff were friendly and attentive without hovering. Every meal was full of flavor and lovingly prepared in the traditional way, with the homemade taste of food served in a family home. It’s more than a place to stay, and we highly recommend it.

I could happily have stayed another night, though then I might have wanted yet another one. Bhathiya and Suzi were wonderful hosts, and their company and stories made the visit even better. The dining-room view was picturesque, and the weather felt just right, neither too warm nor too cold. The toilets were good, the bedrooms clean, and their collection of curios fit the place perfectly. I should say I may be biased, since the house reminded me of my childhood home and had me floating on a nostalgia cloud. Still, it was awesome, and I can’t recommend them highly enough. The property, its surroundings, the food, and the whole vibe were amazing. What really made it, though, were Suzy and Bhathiya. They’re lovely people who care about their guests’ comfort and enjoyment. A fantastic place to stay in the hills around Kandy, and I can’t recommend it enough.

We had a beautiful stay in this little paradise, close to the city but surrounded by nature. The animals at night and that breakfast view were lovely. And the owners are such warm-hearted people, you’ll be in good hands.
