W Residence Kandy

The interiors at W Residence Kandy are beautifully designed and feel luxurious, which gives the place a calm, relaxing atmosphere. A great choice for a Kandy visit, highly recommended.

Waking up to that beautiful view from the bed was amazing. It’s such a peaceful place overlooking kandy city, and the service was very satisfying. The staff are really friendly, and the family rooms are pretty cool. I’d recommend it to anyone who wants to wake up feeling like they’re in heaven. I’ll definitely come back next time I’m in Kandy!

Thushara looked after us during the stay, arranged dinner for relatives who joined us, and sorted out morning transport despite the fuel rationing at the time. We left after a smooth mug of coffee and a tasty Lawariya, the local sweet. I hope to repeat this great stay. Our room was spacious, and so was the bathroom. We ordered pizza while washing up, then ate it on the sky deck. The room was at the very top, past the lobbies and dining area, which had tasteful decor and beautiful original canvas paintings. One set extended onto the walls and made a lovely immersive effect. It was a cloudy weekday afternoon when we arrived. I stepped straight onto the balcony and felt a soft gust of wind lift my weariness. Sitting there, I enjoyed the weather and the view, which Thushara said can stretch as far as Adams Peak on a clear day. Highly recommended.

The location was nice, with pretty views, and the staff were pleasant. But there were several misunderstandings about the price. There were four of us with two rooms booked, yet we had to move into a family room because one room smelled mouldy and unpleasant, and the two rooms we expected weren’t available. Apart from that mouldy room, the rooms were fairly large but not especially charming. It was alright, though for the price I expected better service and room quality.
