The Villa Green Inn

The gardens are very well kept, and being close to the airport is convenient. I stayed for two nights in room "Manel" during my 10 days in Sri Lanka, making this my first stop. The water dispenser was useful for filling up before outings, and I think incoming guests should be told it’s available. Breakfast was simple but adequate. The first night was fine, but the aircon stopped working the next day. I was mostly out, so it didn’t bother me much at first. I told reception in the afternoon, and they said the problem was simple to fix. But when I got back from a late dinner, it still wasn’t working and reception was closed. It was far too hot to sleep, and there was no fan in the room, so that night was really bad. Otherwise, I would have given four stars. My friends enjoyed their stay.

It looks like a nice hotel at first, but I don’t think it’s worth the price. During our Sri Lanka holiday, we got the worst service we experienced here. Breakfast was very limited, with no fruit at all. Even cheaper places gave us better service and were kinder. You can also hear planes, so it’s a bit noisy.

This was simply one of the best places I’ve ever been. It’s incredibly quiet and peaceful, with beautiful greenery and two pools. Just 15 min from the airport, it’s very convenient and a great place to recharge at the end of a tiring, busy trip around Sri Lanka. I especially loved the old colonial feel. The houses are beautiful, well finished, and thoughtfully designed. You can switch on the AC, but in my amateur architecture opinion, the house is designed to stay cool without it. They arranged a taxi to take us to the Air port, and having a baby bed available was very handy for our family. A baby chair in the restaurant would make a difference, and it would be nice to have some cakes or scones for afternoon tea and coffee. It’s a gem of a place, and my dream home.

This was our first night in Sri Lanka, and the airport pickup was perfect. It was about a 15 minute taxi ride to this superb little hotel. Our immaculate room was right by a beautiful pool, and the peaceful setting was just right for unwinding after a long flight. The staff were so helpful. We asked for sparkling water with lunch by the pool, and when they didn’t have any, one of the staff rode his bike to the shop to get it for us. Dinner was delicious, the beds were so comfortable, and we slept really well. Breakfast was great too. Suzanne & Leonardo were perfect hosts, and we left feeling relaxed and ready for our Sri Lankan adventure.
