The cabin sits right in front of kochchipathana lake, so we had a beautiful view of birds flying around and the sunrise. My family and I spent two nights at the captain’s cottage during our trip to Kataragama, and it was one of our best stays. It was peaceful and comfortable, with air conditioning, a fan, hot water, and facilities for a bbq. Highly recommend it.
Mr. Gamini, the caretaker, was very supportive, and the cottage was clean with wifi, A/C, and cooking facilities. It’s about a 15 minute drive to yala and 20 minutes to kataragama. We came with family and really enjoyed relaxing by the lakefront, with its mesmerizing view. A great place to unwind with friends or family. Highly recommend.
The view and property were lovely, and the people were friendly. The clean, comfortable cottage made for a great stay, and the staff went out of their way to help us enjoy it. I’d definitely recommend captain’s cottage.
