The junior staff treated us well and tried to keep the place clean, but this property needs much more than cleaning. It’s old and hasn’t been renovated in years. The bathrooms were dirty, the toilets wouldn’t flush, and the hot water showers didn’t work. The TV was out of order too. Loose pool tiles gave me a bad cut. We were charged an unreasonable rate to use the kitchen, the Al Cart menu was expensive compared with the area, and the manager didn’t know customers can’t be charged extra for card payments. There was also a 10% service charge on the total bill for service that was never given. A very bad experience, not recommended.

The doors and bathroom fixtures were a mess. The bathroom door was flimsy, the main door didn’t lock properly, and the bidet shower and plastic commode seat were loose. The bathroom was dirty, including the tiles, taps, and everything else. The AC made loud noises and kept switching off before the room cooled. The TV turned on, but no channels worked. There were many Miskito in the room, no bathroom towel, and no water bottles in the room. I don’t recommend this place at all.

The price is cheap, and it’s close to the Kirivehera access gate and Ruhunu Maha Katharagama Devalaya. But the room was not clean. The commode, mirrors, and curtains in the bathroom were dirty and uncomfortable to use. The wall sockets were very old, so bring a plug top to charge your devices. Our toiletries and towels weren’t arranged when we checked in, which makes it seem the room hadn’t been cleaned and reset after the previous guests. People were allowed to drink alcohol and play music outside, making a lot of noise when we wanted a quiet night. Not recommended.

This was the worst hotel I’ve stayed in, and it doesn’t deserve any stars. I should’ve read the reviews before choosing it. Everything was bad. After I left a review, the owner called and said we should have left right away if we weren’t happy with the cleaning. He also said they charged us very low rates. For us, having a clean place to sleep matters. Price isn’t the important thing.
