Nithila Inn

Nice place, and they have a pool table too. Really nice.

It’s a well-known place because it’s close to the bus station, but I didn’t enjoy the food. The chicken kottu had bits of bone in it, and chewing them felt like biting stones. I also have questions about the hygiene, since dust gets into the area where they prepare the food. I don’t know what the rooms are like or what food they serve inside the Inn.

We ordered a nasi gerong sawan and a large chicken fried rice yesterday. The food was sooo good, and the price was the most surprising part, really reasonable for what we got. It was my first time trying their food, and I’d highly recommend it.

Nithila Inn isn’t a big place, but it feels classy. The food is delicious, and there’s a huge menu, from hoppers, string hoppers, Kottus, sups, salads, pastas, noodles and sandwiches to cakes, mouses and souffles. They also do takeaways. We first brought home their fried rice for lunch, then went back for dinner with the whole family three times. Those were happy times we won’t forget. The premises are clean, tidy, calm and beautiful. The manager, chefs and staff are friendly and smart. The tables are nicely decorated, and you can see into the kitchen. There’s a pool table in a glassed room, plus a VIP room for 6 persons with a television. It would suit a small family gathering, a small party or a business meeting. My only regret is the entrance and parking. It faces Kasbewa - Bandaragama main road, and the entrance is a little messy with the shops around it. Even so, it’s still on my list of best places to dine.
