The wildlife was incredible. Early one morning I spotted a couple of crocodiles in the river, monkeys, several birds, a water monitor, and two toucans sitting in a tree right in front of me for ages. The room was clean and comfortable, right by the river. There were a few mosquitoes, as you'd expect near water, but the mosquito nets and little incense burners they provided worked well. The family running the place were lovely, and the highlight for me was the host, Dimu. He took great care of me and went out of his way to make the stay enjoyable. He even showed me a few nice local spots on his scooter. Nothing was too much trouble. What a legend. Highly recommended for a relaxed stay close to nature.

It felt like a magical little world, waking up to the river and all the animal sounds. Our room faced the river, so we saw several crocodiles both by day and at night. The cabanas were cozy, and the surroundings peaceful, with wonderful staff. The owner was kind and attentive. He even baked a cake for my friend's birthday and helped us sort out transport and plan our unforgettable safari. The food was delicious too.

We had a great stay at Riverside Cabana. The riverside setting kept the surroundings fresh, and there are cabanas built in the trees. The food was delicious, and everything went well. We rented a bike from Keshara Safari Bike Rental, which made it much easier to get to town and the tourist attractions. They delivered it to this hotel. I found Keshara Safari Bike Rental to be one of the best bike rental companies in Tissamaharama. I'd highly recommend both Riverside Cabana and Keshara Safari Bike Rental.

The river views are gorgeous, and the hosts made us feel so welcome. They were cheerful and always ready to help. We’d happily recommend staying here.

We had a great time here, thanks in large part to the owner, who was so kind. He sorted out tuk-tuks, safaris and taxis, and even took us to see the bats at no charge. He really went out of his way to help with everything.
