We went to Sakuna Arana to get away from city life, and for relaxing, it was ideal. The atmosphere was calm, the pool was beautiful, and the cabanas and grounds were unbelievably clean. Staff were welcoming and friendly. With a few changes, this place could become one of the best hospitality spots around. Some basics were missing from the rooms: tea, coffee, and creamer. As Sri Lankans, we look forward to bed tea, so we had to contact the owner a couple of times to have these brought over. There’s no room telephone to reach staff directly, which made communication time-consuming since everything had to go through the owner. The bathrooms also had no toiletries. We had our own, but it could be inconvenient for other guests. The food was good, but mild, as if it was prepared more for foreign tastes. It would help if staff asked about guests’ spice preferences in advance. Fish, meat such as pork and beef, and seafood also aren’t always available on demand. You need to give staff several hours’ notice, for example, pork for dinner needs to be requested around 3:00 PM. Despite these smaller issues, we had an excellent stay.

The team were polite, friendly, and always happy to help, and the resort was neat and hygienic throughout. I had a wonderful stay at sakuna arana resort. The food was fresh, delicious, and offered a great variety. I really appreciated the effort everyone puts into keeping the place to such a high standard. Highly recommend it.

A welcome juice, a lovely pool, and a resort tucked into beautiful, well-kept jungle made for a really nice stay. The rooms felt like new, and were large, clean, and looked after. Breakfast was delicious and generous. We had such a good time here, we’d highly recommend it. It was our best accommodation in Sri Lanka.

Birdwatching early in the morning was a treat, and we loved the BBQ dinner and local lunch. The food had plenty of variety and was delicious. The owner was friendly and humble, and the service crew were helpful and kind. The place has a wonderful nature-filled atmosphere, with a real jungle hideout feel. It has five clean, tidy chalet-style rooms, all together. It’s an excellent nature escape a short distance from Colombo.

A peaceful jungle stay with birdsong, an infinity pool, and a jacuzzi bath. It has all the modern comforts and is close to Kosgoda station and the beach, about five minutes by tuk tuk or a 20-minute walk. A perfect place to unwind.
