Alankuda Dolphin Village Hotel

There were so many mosquitoes, and we didn't have a net. The bathroom window was open, and after a shower, water would sit there and the mosquitoes would multiply within minutes. If they could get that under better control, I'd rate the place higher.

A sweet, old guest house run by a friendly family. We got a lovely local experience and an amazing sea view. They can also arrange snorkeling, diving, and dolphin watching.

Friendly service, clean rooms, and a reasonable price. The hotel is in a good location too.

The beach is lovely, though there's a row of windmills behind it. They weren't working during our visit. I liked having the hammocks and air conditioning, and the upstairs room had a great view, although its window wasn't very clean. There were lots of flies around and in the room, but the bed had a net. The bathroom was a real problem: it smelled bad, and the hot water came separately from the sun-heated shower. That water was too hot, while the other shower was too cold. The staff were friendly, but their English was very basic. I was sick and needed hot water in the evening to mix some medication powder, but around 9pm I couldn't find anyone or tell where to knock without disturbing guests.
